Charming and idyllic, the Greenway Hotel and Spa is situated within an Elizabethan manor in the village of Shurdington, south of Cheltenham and just a 15-minute drive from the city’s boutique centre. Guests will feel as though they have travelled into a classic Jane Austin novel as they arrive at the elegant ivy clad manor house. The location of the Greenway enables guests to explore the many surrounding picturesque villages and Cotswolds pastures, as well as being convenient for both Cheltenham and Gloucester.
The hotel is stylishly decorated in a design befitting of the Elizabethan origins of the building. There are 21 rooms in total, including three large suites. All rooms are en-suite, and include a seating area, a television, a hospitality tray, ironing facilities, toiletries and bathrobes. Suites are larger and include a sofa and iPod docking station.
Restaurant and Bar
Breakfast is included in the cost of the rooms and is served in the hotel restaurant that has previously won awards for the quality of its cuisine. The restaurant’s head chef has, in the past, cooked for the Queen, and uses local and seasonal produce in his meals. The restaurant serves lunch, evening meals and Sunday lunch. Afternoon tea is also served and includes a delightful range of sandwiches and enticing cakes.
Guests can unwind in the Orchard Brasserie, where a good selection of alcoholic, soft and hot drinks are served. Lighter meals, smoothies and cocktails are also available here.
Additional Facilities and Services
Within the hotel the Elan Spa offers various treatments in a calming and tranquil setting. A full range of spa treatments can be accessed, including facials, massages and wraps. The spa also includes a steam room, sauna, pool and fitness centre. The presence of the spa, the romantic Elizabethan setting and the exquisite food combine to create the perfect relaxing getaway.
