SpaWhat was once a chapel built in 1816 is now home to the Chapel Spa, offering visitors a chance to escape from the worries and hassles of modern life into a peaceful oasis of calm relaxation. This Moroccan themed spa in the centre of Cheltenham provides an extensive range of treatments, massages and therapies, and furthermore, provides meals supplied by local restaurants.

The Spa

The spa section of Chapel Spa features a hydrotherapy pool and steam room. The pool is heated to a constant 36 degrees Celsius and has water jets designed to aid with aches and pains. Scented candles and the Moroccan style décor help to aid the relaxation process. Guests can choose to sit in the pool, on the loungers, or take some time in the steam room that is filled with eucalyptus aromas.

Treatments

Chapel Spa has a large number of treatments designed to relax, sooth and pamper. These include:

  • Beauty treatments, such as waxing, eyebrow threading, manicures and makeup lessons
  • Facials, using organic products to rejuvenate and enhance skin
  • Full body wraps to cleanse and moisturise, which are accompanied by scalp massages to enable relaxation
  • Massages from simple neck and shoulder treatments to full body massages, all massages help ease aches and pains, as well as relieving tension
  • A range of maternity treatments that are safe for pregnant women that aim to help with muscle pain and relaxation

Fitness at Chapel Spa

Located within Chapel Spa is a small but well-appointed gym that includes treadmills, cross-trainers and toning equipment. It is possible to book a personal trainer and to combine use of the gym with use of the spa area.

There are a number of fitness classes available at the spa, including cardio workouts, Yoga and Pilates to name a few.

Food and Drink

As a part of the spa packages that are available, lunch and afternoon tea can be supplied when booked in advance. Lunch is provided by the nearby Story Teller Restaurant and Wine Room with a menu consisting of healthy, indulgent and exotic options. Afternoon Tea is supplied by a family run tearoom in Cheltenham, Well Walk Tearooms, and includes a sumptuous number of cakes, scones and sandwiches.

The Spa also serves a range of hot and cold beverages for its guests. These include coffees, fruit juices and Champagne.

Getting There

The Chapel Spa is situated on North Place, in the centre of Cheltenham, close to the High Street and the A46 ring road. A large NCP car park is across the road. Alternatively, a number of buses operate along North Place, including Stagecoach Route D, which has services to and from Cheltenham Spa Station every 10 minutes.

Opening Times and Cost

The Chapel Spa is open daily with closures over the Christmas and New Year period. Opening times are Monday to Friday 8am until 9pm, Saturday 9am until 6pm and Sunday 10am until 6pm. Treatments must be booked in advanced in order to guarantee an appointment slot. The cost of the treatments vary with packages available for half and full days that include meals. Membership options are also available.
