Somewhat of a hidden gem, the Colesbourne Inn offers rustic yet luxurious accommodation within the rolling pastures of the Cotswolds. The inn is approximately 15-minutes southeast by car from Cheltenham city centre and is set amongst luscious green fields and wooded areas. Thought to have been built in about 1827, the former coaching inn now hosts 9 rooms, along with a pub and restaurant. The location makes it ideal for exploring the stunning Cotswolds countryside, whilst remaining convenient for the historic regency Cheltenham.

Accommodation

Each of the nine rooms available has been refurbished to a high standard, with the calming and stylish decor reflecting the traditional nature of the building. There are eight standard rooms and one deluxe room that has a king-sized bed. Some of the rooms can be separated off from the rest of the building through the use of fire doors in order to create family accommodation. Travel cots with bedding can also be provided if required. Rooms are equipped with televisions, ironing facilities, and tea and coffee making facilities including fresh coffee and a cafetiere. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the public areas.

Restaurant and Bar

The Colesbourne Inn has a restaurant that is open to both hotel guests and members of the public and serves more than just the standard “pub grub”. Favourites such as pork belly are on the menu, along with a range of gourmet burgers, with the emphasis being on carefully sourced ingredients from the finest suppliers. Breakfast consists of hot options that are cooked to order, along with cereals, yogurts and fruit.

Guests can relax in the traditional style bar that offers a large selection of beers, including those from a local brewery with interesting and quirky names such as “the Bishops Tipple”. There is also a large wine list. In the summer months, guests can take advantage of the extensive beer garden that is beautifully landscaped to create a relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
