Featured in the Lonely Planet and the Michelin guides, the well-appointed Hanover House is a classic example of Victorian Italianate architecture. The house was built in 1848 and is located in the heart of regency Cheltenham. The privately run bed and breakfast is the home of the proprietors, James and Veronica, who aim to give guests a warm welcome in a luxurious setting.

Hanover House is conveniently located near the the Promenade in Cheltenham, which is a tree lined avenue filled with boutique shops and cafes. The famous Cheltenham Ladies College is a mere two-minutes away, as well.

Accommodation

There are just three rooms in Hanover House, ensuring that each visitor will receive a great deal of personal attention. The striking décor presents colourful quilts, curtains and antique style furniture – all of which are most befitting for a regency town house.

The three rooms are uniquely named after poets and musicians who resided in or near the house during the Victorian era. Two of the rooms have an en-suite, whilst the third has its own private bathroom. Tea, coffee and a decanter of sherry are all provided in the rooms, along with an electric blanket for use in the colder months. Rooms also include a seating area and a selection of books for guests’ perusal. Free Wi-Fi is also provided throughout Hanover House.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served around a large table in the dining room where guests can sit together and chat to one another. The extensive breakfast menu features locally produced, organic, seasonal and gluten-free ingredients. Hot and cold options are offered including a full English breakfast, cereals and fruits.

The owners of Hanover House are happy to supply guests with information about local attractions and eateries, as there are a number restaurants and cafes nearby for other meals during throughout the day.

Within the hotel, there is also a lounge where guests can watch television or relax with a book from a selection provided. Comfortable chairs, fresh flowers and an open fireplace are all things you will find in this small bed and breakfast that exudes quaint luxury and refinement.
